Season Ends Early...

Not making the playoffs was a huge blow, not only to myself but to all of my teammates as well.

With such a good chance to make it, it all just seemed like it slipped away from us at the last second.

With all this time off, I feel lost.
Time to re-focus and get ready for a better season next year!...

Just want to send a formal apology to all of the Colorado Rapids supporters out there who were dying to see us in the playoffs... See you all next season.

On Sunday I went down to the CYS Cup to meet some of the kids and also give out the awards.
It was a real fun day, and there was some great talent there!....

Congratulations to all of the teams!

Legacy High School Appearance

It was a pleasure of mine yesterday to meet with the Legacy High School soccer team!
Coach Tony was a pleasure to speak to, and it was great for us to share ideas on how to develop young talented soccer players. His knowledge of the game was fascinating to me, and it felt good to know that Legacy High School have a great coach on their hands.
The students/players reminded me of myself when I was younger. I could see that raw talent that needs that extra step to get to the next level.
Hopefully me sharing my experiences, thoughts and advice on soccer was helpful to the Legacy High School team, and I would definitely like to see them at my StarSoccer camp on the 28th December!
Best of luck in your game today boys!

Back in training!!!!

Today was the first day back to training after my 4 week injury, and boy did it seem like pre-season all over again!

Just from a 4v4 tournament and 200 yard sprints my body was absolutely drained!... The quad feels good though, but I still feel like I need 2 weeks of heavy fitness.

No worries though GILLI (that's my nickname!) will be back on the field in no time!!

P.S... do you like my tattoo? It says 'GILLI', I got it in 2006 in my hometown of Miami!

What's on my ipod!

Jay Z's Blueprint 3...One word - AMAZING!!!
He never seems to disappoint me. Jay Z has done it again!
From the first to the last track, the CD just has me drawn into every song.
I am never a fan of the commercial tracks on CD's (You know the 'radio' tracks some artists make to sell the album mainstream)... but I have to admit that "Run this Town" is my favourite.
Anyone who hasn't bought the Blueprint 3 yet, it is a "must have"!

Injuries, injuries, injuries

In a recent home game against the Houston Dynamo I suffered an early thigh injury that has me sidelined for 5 weeks!
Initially, it feels like the most crushing feeling to know you won't be able to touch a soccer ball for so long....But with faith and the hunger to get back out there on the pitch, it makes your game that step better when you are finally fit!
I'm in the 2 week period of my treatment now, and I can't wait to get back out there for my team! Don't worry (to all my fans out there!) it shouldn't be too much longer til you see me in action again.
Faith and Commitment is getting me by every day!
